Not every spring flower is big and showy; there are plenty of
miniature blossoms that grow among the grasses on the front lawn at
Hilton Pond Center for Piedmont Natural History--and probably in your
yard, too. Some of these spring blossoms even have names indicating
that birds like them.
For a photo essay about some tiny spring flowers, visit our "This
Week at Hilton Pond" installment for the week of 15-21 March 2003 at
http://www.hiltonpond.org/ThisWeek030315.html .
As always there's a tally of all newly banded birds, as well as a
list of significant recaptures from past years.
Happy Nature Watching,
BILL
