Charleston birding query

Dear Carolinabirders:
I am headed down to Charleston and Francis Marion National Forest with
some visiting California birders/competitors and need to wow them with our
riches. I will of course be visiting the national forst headquarter/info
center and the Santee River Delta for the Swallow Tailed Kites but am
writing to find out what other less-ublicized spots we might hit on this
trip.

I have some specific questions:

1. Has anyone seen the kites at the delta yet?

2. Is it too early for Mississipppi Kites?

3. What is the best place to look for Great Cormorants at Huntington Beach
State Park?

4. THe best place for Wilsons Plovers at HBSP again?

5. Is it worth taking the cruise to one of the barrier islands ( I forget
the name, but the boat leaves from just south of Charleston and near the
nat forest nature center)?

6. Any special places for Glossy Ibis?

Thanks in advance for any pointers
