I haven't been posting much recently, but I did see a Turkey today. I was
returning from Morganton, and saw a strange shape along the Interstate just
past the Swannanoa exit (Westbound) in the median. I thought it was a bit of
rusty pipe, but my brain came through with the interpretation of this
strange shape. I whipped my head around and saw it in profile, looking
carefully for white tailfeather tips (if they were, it would have been
domestic stock). They were brown.
I only saw one, which is odd, as they are usually in a flock, but there may
have been more on the hill in thicker brush.
