Yesterday a regular visitor to my yard winter and summer for seeds and
suet, a Red Bellied Woodpecker, after a meal at the suet feeder was
observed landing on the active Bluebird nest box and was sticking his
head in. I shooed him away and the parents are still actively feeding,
so I guess all is still well. I removed the suet feeder, and am hoping
he will just stay away.. I have a meal worm feeder for the Bluebirds
and whoever and several seed feeders.
I am so hesitant to check the box inside. Hope I got him in time and
that he doesn't return.
