In our judgment, the most nondescript bird in North America must be a
female Indigo Bunting, the subject of our "This Week at Hilton Pond"
photo essay for 15-21 May 2003.
To view some close-up photos of this little brown bird--and her far more
colorful mate--please visit the Web site for Hilton Pond Center for
Piedmont Natural History, specifically at
<http://www.hiltonpond.org/ThisWeek030515.html> .
As always we include results of our bird banding and recapture efforts
for the week--plus a mug shot of a Common Yellowthroat male.
Happy Nature Watching!
