William Camp in Roanoke Rapids told me last Saturday that he saw three kites
over his home (the original suspected nestsite) in Roanoke Rapids, one bird
being immature plumage and begging/squealing.
At the current nest, last Saturday, the one young looks re ally big and
perhaps about ready to go into the air.
Camp also saw 10 birds flocked over Bolling Road and Henry Street last week.
Visitors can also check the intersection of Franklin and Eighth Streets; or,
the birds from the actual nest can be seen from the east side of Emry Park
(just north of Tenth Street) foraging east of Emry Park near the water tower
there.
