After banding the albino Ruby-throated Hummingbird at Chapel Hill two
weeks ago, we've several reports of white hummers--including one in
Bethany SC not far from Hilton Pond Center for Piedmont Natural
History.
To view a photo essay about the Bethany bird--which was leucistic
rather than albinistic--please visit the 22-28 August 2003
installment of "This Week at Hilton Pond" at
http://www.hiltonpond.org/ThisWeek030822.html
As always, the weekly posting includes a list of all birds banded
during the period.
Happy Nature Watching!
