Warblerfest on the Outer Banks!

Greetings fellow birders,
Finally!
Friday night brought fairly good numbers of passerines
to the Outer Banks in spite of Northeast (instead of
Northwest) winds.
Starting at Pea Island there were flocks of Bobolinks,
Baltimore Orioles, Eastern Kingbirds and a few
scattered warblers: Redstarts, Black-and Whites, and
Yellows. Later, on Roanoke Island I had plenty more
Baltimore Orioles plus dozens of Redstarts, more
Black-and-whites, Prairies, 4 BLACKBURNIANS (at
once!), a CHESTNUT-SIDED, TWO KENTUCKIES (very hard to
get around here!), a Black-throated Blue and an early
Blackpoll. Not as good as in the mountains perhaps,
but I'll take it!
