The following are highlights of the 3 hour Sunday birdwalk at Magnolia
Plantation at 3550 Ashley River Road ( highway 61 ) northwest of Charleston,
SC led by Perry Nugent at 8:30 am. A fee is charged.
September 7, 2003
61 species were seen and/or heard on a nice day. The most interesting were;
20 Pied-billed grebes, 2 Black-crowned Night Herons, 1 Yellow-crowned Night
Heron, 60+ White Ibis, 10 Glossy Ibis, 2 Blue-winged Teal, 1 King Rail, 1
Caspian Tern, 1 Fosters Tern, 30 Black Terns, 30 Red-eyed Vireos, 1 Northern
Parula Warbler, 2 Yellow Warblers, 1 Cape May Warbler, 1 Prairie Warbler, 1
Northern Waterthrush, 6 American Redstarts, 10 Indigo Buntings, and 6
Bobolinks.
