Caw Caw birdwalk



The following are highlights of the 3 hour Saturday birdwalk at Charleston
County's Caw Caw Park which is on US 17 in Ravenel, SC about 10 miles south
of the intersection of US 17 and US 526.  It was led by Perry Nugent at 8:30

55 Species were seen and or heard on a cloudy cool? day.  The most
interesting were; 2 Wood Storks, 1 Greater Yellowlegs, 2 Common Snipe, 2
Barred Owls, 1 Red-headed Woodpecker, 12 Pileated Woodpeckers, 3 Acadian
Flycatchers, 8 Rough-winged Swallows, 2 Bank Swallows, 1 Marsh Wren, 20+
White-eyed Vireos, 30+ Red-eyed Vireos, 2 Northern Parula Warblers, 2 Yellow
Warblers, 1 Palm Warbler, 1 Prairie Warbler, 1 Black-and-white Warbler,  1
American Redstart, 15 Indigo Buntings, 20 Painted Buntings, and 6 Bobolinks.
