Dear Carolina Birders,
Thanks so much for the many suggestions about what birds I might expect to
find and also areas that might be productive should this hurricane pass
close by. Most of the replies were very informative and I appreciate them
greatly.
Also, for those that went to great lengths to explain to me how destructive
such a storm can be and that it would be impossible to bird anywhere near
the eye-wall of such a powerful hurricane, I understand. Please know that
my comment was not meant to be taken seriously. I have the utmost respect
for the catastrophic potential of a major hurricane. I promise that my own
safety and that of my family will take precedence over birding should I see
that we are in harms way. I never intended to minimize in any way the
threat that Isabel could be to us all.
