Clay-colored Sparrows still at Patriot's Point

The Clay-colored Sparrows at Patriot's Point were still present at 10:00am today beside the new condos. David Abbott and I got great looks at two of them and a little later got fine looks at one very non-shy bird. It put on a show for Burton Moore and Ann Shahid.

To get there: go into the Patriot's Point entrance road from Coleman Blvd. Go past the Omar Shrine buildings on the right and take the next right into the disgusting new luxury Condo place. On the right just after pulling in is a brush-lined grassy lot. The brushy canal has fresh water in it. The trees and shrubs around the edge of this lot are where the sparrows rotated between feeding trips to the ground. They were hanging out with Painted and Indigo Buntings and eating some of the grass seeds.

They should be there until the weather changes Tuesday.
