Carolinabirds,
Has anyone heard of any forcasts of potential northern species invasions for
this winter? What are the bird banding rates and feeder reports from the
north?
I know that seed crops and weather in traditional wintering areas has
influences over winter bird populations in the southern United States. Any
insight regarding cone/seed supply in the north this year? Seed and fruit
crop seems quite productive here in Johnston County. I assume this is due to
our wet summer. Anyone have their own predictions? What about Northern
Saw-whet and Long-eared owls?
