No Feeling, No Form, No Wife, No Nun's Priest!

So, what happens when you get a bunch of trainee buddhists together, their ages ranging from 19 to 73, backgrounds as diverse as deep-sea diver or nun, and throw them on a bus across India for ten days? The secret of success is PEER PRESSURE. If you can turn a wholesome teenager into a crack addict using this method, then the chances are that the reverse is also true. Well, unfortunately, we had no challenge quite as challenging as that, but we had a bunch of people from every continent whose only common factor was an interest in Buddhism. This in itself ensured that negativity was completely suppressed at every opportunity, and that virtue seemed to rule the day. However, Marg, Justin and I managed to score top marks in the "idle talk" category, finding the subject of our conversation turning in odd directions (as low down, for example, as Iggy Pop's cock, on one occasion), while completely ignoring our devout neighbours, who were using the long journey time by reciting mantras. It just goes to show that you can take the boy out of Glasgow...
