So, I may not have told you that, last year, I was rejected (ouch, that word!) for a job at the Apple Genius bar. For a number of reasons - one, I suspect, being that I didn't have the correct answer, at interview, to "where do you see yourself in ten years time?" Naturally, I froze. I didn't say (but I did think) "Dude, I'm only just getting over the fact that I'm now too old to die young. Ask me in ten years time". The correct answer to the question is, of course, an obsequious "oh, hopefully in your job". But I froze at the thought of that, too, and there was an embarrassed silence. Well, they (Cool Dude I (cute, horn-rimmed specs, Hoxton fin) from S.F and Cool Dude II (clipped chest hair, highlights) from L.A) were embarrassed. I was embarrassed for them.
Since then, Apple has continued to annoy, in that unique way companies do when they have a monopoly on an even half-decent product. Its most recent annoyance prompted me to write a little piece for the O'Grady Powerpage, a popular eZine for Apple road warriors. You can read it here. I'm mildly psyched!
