Hi Eileen -

You are correct. Just tea alone takes a very long time to improve the soil. Compost and compost tea together, plus some cover crops, and mulches usually speed things along, especially if the soil was devoid of organic matter.

The critters need food, and you have to think about the right kinds of foods to add to feed the critters you need. Use the SFI organism reports to tell you what critters need to be fed, and use SFI to monitor how the organisms are responding.

Sometimes, some organism groups NEED to go down in number. Do, less biomass of bacteria, or less biomass of fungi, is sometimes what is needed, to grow the plants you want to grow.

Less is more, sometimes........
