Yes, you could add calcium sulfate, but I prefer calcium nitrate, if you need N, or calcium carbonate if you need to chew up some hydrogen ions, or eggshells (calcium carbonate with protein), or calcium hydroxide, if you need to mess more with the chemistry of hydrogen.

But please make sure to not add more than 100 pounds of any of these salts per 900 pounds of compost (think of it as a 1:10 dilution if you need to).

More than that and you get too many things dying from the salt effect.
