Hi Tim -

I look at the following part of the ICTC mission statment to suggest that "further education" is part of what they will do, and that research is part of the group's mission.

"To create a forum for education in the history, philosophy, science and actual practice of using compost tea, that furthers the knowledge and therefore the success of compost tea."

Research is, therefore, not outside the charge of what the group could be expected to do.  ICTC is NOT strictly just an informational group.  In fact, exactly the opposite of what Tom J suggested is the actual situation with ICTC.

The ICTC has meant, all along, to do research.  If the ICTC is indeed an un-biased group, representative of the industry, then there is every reason to expect that they could do un-biased research.  I don't think that the ICTC is like pharmaceutical companies at all.

If the only purpose of the ICTC is to put information about compost tea together, then why is that organization needed?
Steve Diver has already put that information together.   Check out what he has written on the ATTRA website.
