Open Art is a program of the Insitute for Inspired Living, a charitable
organization that serves as an incubator for people with inspired
projects which demonstrate compassion and cooperation through shared
voice, vision and action.
Open Art is a mobile unit, the Open ArtMobile, that travels to
schools and shelters with art tools and supplies, to provide rich
artistic experiences to the underserved.
Open Art is artist/poet/teacher/puppeteer Judith Toy and friends.
Judith has had a longtime interest in the creative process of children,
beginning with her own four children and her five grandchildren!
"I like nothing more than to load up the Open ArtMobile with
supplies and to go on the road toward a waiting group of kids for
an unhurried, wonder-full and energy-charged experience. Open Art
arrives with open hands. We hand children the tools and supplies
and artful examples they need to learn and to plumb their own imaginations.
We know that young children learn not through their minds, but through
their hands and their bodies and hearts. Open Art is a one-of-a-kind
experience co-created by younger and elder artists."
