Sandhill Cranes

Folks:
At 2:20 PM this date, Bob Olthoff, Marilyn Westphal, and myself were
scouting Henderson County for the upcoming CBC. While checking the rear of
the French Broad Baptist Church on Grandview Ln. in Henderson County, we
relocated the 4 SANDHILL CRANES that I first observed on Wed. Dec. 6 about 1
mile from the original location. The birds were feeding in an overgrown
field just north of the church.
Directions: Take 191 to Grandview Lane. If coming from
Hendersonville its probably about 3-5 miles from town on the left. If
coming from 280, its probably 2-3 miles on the right. Turn on Grandview, go
a very short distance and you will see The French Broad River Baptist
Church on your right. Pull into the church lot and drive all the way to the
rear parking lot. The birds are in the grown over agricultural field to the
right of the church. Look out towards Mt. Pisgah ( the mountain with all
the towers on it). The birds were a couple of hundred yards off the right
side of the church. Good Luck!
