Carolinabirders,
I went to the "sparrow fields" along the entrance to Samworth
WMA on Saturday, 20 January. Even though it was very windy and
the sparrows didn't want to sit up, we had a good day with 9
species of sparrows. We had 10 Le Conte's and 3 Henslow's, most
of which were seen from the field on the right. Other sparrows seen
were Field, Vesper, Savannah, Song, Swamp, White-throated &
White-crowned.
Remember to contact Samworth WMA before walking these fields.
Also with the last rain, the fields are holding a lot more water.
Good Birding,
Lex Glover
