Re: Adhesive tape on photographs

Catherine:

Ever tried an electric eraser? The eraser "crumbs" attach to the adhesive
and create bigger crumbs that are not sticky at all. Use a gentle eraser
like Magic Rub. Place the photo facing down on a clean surface and work
from the inside towards the edge. You have to be careful about getting
crumbs beneath the print, or some rather severe damage will result, so take
it easy. I've tried using a regular eraser, but it doesn't work nearly as
well as the electric. Libraries usually have some rather clunky models
around, so maybe try one of those first, but your hand will get tired
quickly. There are much better ones available at drafting supply stores.
