Panoramic Photos

We just received three panoramic prints (made with Cirkut cameras) of groups
of central Illinois Royal Masons, ca. 1912-15. They were rolled, of course,
but it was quite easy to humidify them in their rolled state and they
flattened nicely. Now I'm debating whether to encapsulate them or just make
folders for them (it's quite a chore to cut and tape pieces of mylar that
long...)

Panoramic photos are not rare. The Library of Congress has a wonderful
collection of them available in digitized format at their American Memory
site:

Jan, We too have the long panoramic student body photos from the 1920s. I
wonder if anyone boxes these flat or do you keep them rolled? I realize
that
there would be quite a procedure to humidify the rolls so that they could be
coaxed to lay flat without breaking the emulsion but I am thinking about
doing
just that. Do we have any other choices?

Abilene Christian University's first yearbook, The Prickly Pear, was 1912
and
the pictures were printed on the press. I have seen yearbooks with glued on
photographs.
