It's certainly way up at my institution. Up 26% in fiscal year 1999-2000 over 1998-1999, and up 253%
since 1995-1996.

And yes, e-mail questions are a bigger slice of the pie every year. About 35% of all historical
reference questions asked last year came via e-mail. Phone was second with 31% and in-person a close
third with 30%.
