OPENING:

Librarian / Archivist

The Woodstock Historical Society is seeking a dynamic, team player to
fill the part-time, 20-30 hr. per week,  position of
Librarian/Archivist.  The Librarian/Archivist is responsible for the
overall management and operation of the Society’s John Cotton Dana
Research Center.  The Center contains a reading room which houses the
printed book collection, AV resource center, computer assisted digital
archive, and education library.  The limited access Research Archive is
located adjacent to the reading room and contains the Society’s
extensive archive collection.  Beyond the Archive is an underground
vault containing the Society’s historic photograph collection.  The
entire Research Center, built in 1998, is climate controlled.  The
librarian/Archivist supervises the paid photo technician and numerous
volunteers and reports to the Executive Director.  The successful
candidate should hold a MLS, ideally with additional archival training,
or have extensive professional experience with this type of collection;
possess strong interpersonal, organizational and communication skills;
and be familiar with computer database, and word processing
