Did Kurt Vonnegut give a commencement
speech at MIT as was widely rumored?? Click Here for more information on this 'commencement address'. (No it wasn't him - but he has given commencement addresses at Southampton College in 1981, Rice University in 1998 and Syracuse University in 1994. The 'speech' was even made into a song by Baz Luhrmann called Everybody's Free (To Wear Sunscreen) [click here to hear the song in real audio or click here to view the video using real player]. The song includes the text from the Chicago Tribune column [click here for text of speech] written by Mary Schmich that was widely rumored to have been a commencement address given by Kurt Vonnegut at MIT.
