Hi Dennis

If you used rigid pipe you could bring that down through the centre of
your buckets, then have a cross foot on the bottom and clamp that foot
to the bottom of the bucket.. You could then drill your air holes on
the vertical length of the pipe and the cross foot at the bottom. Use
the flexible hose to get from the pump to the rigid pipe in the bucket.
  Just an idea.

A thing I tried was to make a sack out of shade cloth. Tied a rock to
the end of a flexible perforated hose and stuffed that in the bottom of
the sack, then put in my compost. Worked OK and probably gives better
circulation than a bucket with holes. Harder to clean though.

I pump under pressure and have not had to filter. I made a mast sprayer
with 8 nozzles. I change nozzles according to what is in the brew -
clear brew with no solids I open all 8 nozzles with fine holes. When
solids are present I block off some of the nozzles, and use nozzles
with large holes for the ones that are left open.
