This Week at Hilton Pond 03/15/01 (Hummingbirds)

HI . . .

"The Hummingbirds are Coming! The Hummingbirds are Coming!"

That's the gist of the current installment on the website for Hilton
Pond Center for Piedmont Natural History, where you can find
suggestions for when to put up your feeders to attract Ruby-throated
Hummingbirds.

Details and photos are at http://www.hiltonpond.org . Just click on
the logo for "This Week at Hilton Pond" and then select the week of
15-21 March 2001.

Of interest are the week's bird banding totals, a long but
interesting list of recaptured Chipping Sparrows, and the retrapping
of another Northern Cardinal even MORE ancient than the one caught
last week.

While you're browsing, please consider joining the Nature Study
Network, where there's a dialog raging over invasive vs. native
plants.

Happy Nature Watching!
