Catawba River Birds & New Website



Dwayne and I birded up the Catawba River this morning and had quite a day!
We went from Lookout Shoals Lake to Lake Hickory and then on to Lake
Rhodhiss. The last stop of the day was the Catawba River Greenway in
Morganton.  Our biggest surprise was a beautiful Great Egret near Lovelady
Access in Caldwell County.  This is one of only a handful of records for
this species in the spring in our area!  We also had hundreds of swallows
and lots of north bound waterfowl---and a few land migrants that made the
day one to remember!
