Hi folks
Just to let you guys know, according to Sue Scott who works at the NC Zoo,
some keepers at the zoo, including Ken Reininger, have identified a Goshawk
visiting the Cypress Swamp area of the zoo for a week or more. Sue says it
apparently coming to the area on a regular (weekly) basis and hangs out
between the education building and the Cypress Swamp area. So if anyone wants
to visit the zoo, please be on the lookout for this bird. One who is familiar
with Coopers Hawks, said the bird is bigger, defininte eye stripe, and zigzag
tail barring. Also the bird apparently flies through the trees much faster
than a Coopers. Anyway, thought you might like to know about this. Later,
Ricky
