The ST flycatchers can be observed hawking insects to feed the young
STs. They are often seen in the field to the southwest of the tower
where the nest is located. They can also be seen sitting on the fence
or on the electric wires that run through the field. Now that the young
have hatched they can be seen more easily.
Visitors may also want to look for the other birds. Among regulars one
can also see or hear: flycatchers (pewee, eastern kingbird, and great
crested), loggerhead shrike, blue grosbeak, indigo bunting, grasshopper
sparrow (mostly heard), bob white, and orchard oriole.
