14 March 2000
This morning I saw 2 Little Gulls at Atlantic Beach,
just E of Triple Ess Pier (or a few hundred yards W
of the W boundary of Fort Macon SP).
1 was an adult; 1 was a first-winter.
They were with about 200 Bonaparte's Gulls
(and a few Forster's Terns).
On previous mornings, there have been many
hundreds of Bonaparte's Gulls along this section
of beach, but I couldn't find a Little. So it was
a bit strange to find 2, after the number of
Bonaparte's had declined.
