Overnight rain in Asheville was followed by a large mixed flock of migrants
in our neighborhood this morning. I'm sure I missed some species, but
here's what I observed in about an hour's time in and near our yard:
N. Parula, Am. Redstart, Black and white, Blackpoll, Blackburnian,
Chestnut-sided, Black-throated Blue, Magnolia, Yellow and Yellow-rumped
warblers. Also Red-eyed Vireo, Ruby-crowned Kinglet, Yellow-billed Cuckoo
and Scarlet Tanager. The neighborhood Wood Thrush joined the early-morning
chorus.
May the good luck get even better through the CBC weekend. Hope to see you
there.
