The following are highlights of the three hour Saturday morning birdwalk at
Charleston County's Caw Caw Park in Ravenel, SC led by Perry Nugent at 8:30
am.
November 23, 2002.
55 species were seen and/or heard. The most interesting were; 6 Ring-necked
Ducks, 6 Lesser Scaup, 2 adult Bald Eagles working on nest, 40 Semipalmated
Plovers flying south, 1 Yellow-bellied Sapsucker, 4 Marsh Wrens, 1 Blue-gray
Gnatcatcher, 2 hermit Thrushes, 70 American Robins, 2 Loggerhead Shrikes, 1
Orange-crowned Warbler, 1 Palm Warbler, 10 Chipping Sparrows, 40 Savannah
Sparrows, 1 Field Sparrow, and 15 American Goldfinches.
