Ed Blitch, Matt Blitch and I rode down to help Bob
Chinn cover Chehaw-Combahee plantation and adjoining
areas during Sunday's Ace Basin Christmas count.
Notable birds were 4 (light) Snow Geese, 11 Wood
Storks, 200+ White Ibis (including a partially
devoured carcass), 1 Glossy Ibis, 5 Bald Eagles (2
imm.), 2 Green Herons and a White-eyed Vireo.
Waterfowl numbers seemed low, perhaps due to very high
water levels after recent rains.
