Caw Caw birdwalk



The following are highlights of the 3 hour birdwalk at Charleston County's
Caw Caw Park located on US 17 south in Ravenel, SC led by Perry Nugent at
8:30 am.  For more information about these walks, type www.ccprc.com on you

February 1, 2003

56 species were seen and/or heard on a cool day.  The most interesting were;
1 Ring-necked Duck, 1 adult Bald Eagle on nest, 1 Northern Harrier, 3
Red-shouldered Hawks, 1 Red-tailed Hawk, 1 Great Horned Owl on nest, 3
Pileated Woodpeckers, 3 Yellow-bellied Sapsuckers, 2 Marsh Wrens, 15 Eastern
Bluebirds, 3 Hermit Thrushes, 1 White-eyed Vireo, 1 Blue-headed Vireo, 6
Pine Warblers, 1 Palm Warbler, 1 Common Yellowthroat, 2 Eastern Meadowlarks,
and 150 Goldfinches.
