The following are highlights of the 3 hour birdwalk at Caw Caw Park located
on US 17 south in Ravenel, SC led by Perry Nugent at 8:30 am. A small fee
is charged. For more information about these walks, type www.ccprc.com on
your computer.
February 12, 2003.
47 species were seen and/or heard on a cool turning nice day. The most
interesting were; 6 Wood ducks, 1 adult Bald Eagle, 2 Clapper Rails, 1 Great
Horned Owl on nest, 1 Barred Owl, 3 Pileated Woodpeckers, 2 House Wrens, 1
Sedge Wren, 1 Marsh Wren, 20 Eastern Bluebirds, 5 Hermit Thrushes, 1 first
year Nashville Warbler, 1 Black-and-white Warbler, and 1 Common
Yellowthroat.
