The following are highlights of the 3 hour Saturday birdwalk at Charleston
County's Caw Caw Park on US 17 south in Ravenel, SC led By Perry Nugent at
8:30 am. A small fee is charged. For more information type www.ccprc.com

March 8, 2003
59 species were seen and/or heard on a nice day. 1 Anhinga, 56 White Ibis,
7 Wood Ducks, 2 Pintails, 2 Blue-winged Teal, 4 Hooded Mergansers, 8 Ospreys
( 2 working on nest ), 1 adult and 1 baby Bald Eagle, 10 Red-shouldered
Hawks, 2 Red-tailed Hawks, 1 first year Broad-winged Hawk, 1 Great Horned
Owl on nest, 1 Yellow-bellied Sapsucker, 600 Tree Swallows, 1 Barn Swallow,
1 Marsh Wren, 6 Ruby-crowned Kinglets, 2 Golden-crowned Kinglets, 1 Hermit
Thrush, 1 Loggerhead Shrike, 4 White-eyed Vireos singing, 1 Blue-headed
Vireo, 1 Orange-crowned Warbler, 10 Yellow-throated Warblers, 3 Pine
warblers, 1 Black-and-white Warbler, and 1 Common Yellowthroat.
