On Sunday, we saw 3 Upland Sandpipers on a farm near North River in
Carteret County.
We also saw 3 Horned Larks. Of interest, we never saw a large
aggregation of this species this summer, as was the case in 2002.
Also saw 10 Gull-billed Terns working the fields for insects. I would
bet that this species is very susceptible to pesticides.
I now have a pair of Eurasian Collared-Doves across the street from my
house.
