The following are highlights of the 3 hour Sunday morning birdwalk at
Magnolia Plantation at 3550 Ashley River Road ( highway 61 ) northwest of
Charleston, SC led by Perry Nugent at 8:30 am. A fee is charged.
September 21, 2003
43 species were seen and/or heard in a nice day when birds were hard to
find. The most interesting were; 20 Pied-billed Grebes, 2 Least Bitterns,
250 Wood Ducks, 100 Blue-winged Teal, 1 Yellow-billed cuckoo, 1 Barred Owl,
4 Pileated Woodpeckers, 1 Acadian Flycatcher, 5 White-eyed Vireos, 3
Red-eyed Vireos, 2 Northern Waterthrushes, 1 Yellow Warbler, and 1 American
Yellowstart.
