Magnolia Plantation birdwalk



The following are highlights of the Sunday morning birdwalk at Magnolia
Plantation at 3550 Ashley River Road ( Highway 61 ) northwest of Charleston,
SC led by Perry Nugent at 8:30 am.  A fee is charged.

September 28, 2003

63 species were seen and/or heard on a nice day.  The most interesting were;
5 Pied-billed Grebes, 2 Least Bitterns, 100 White Ibis, 12 Glossy Ibis, 2
Green-winged teal, 30 Blue-winged Teal, 1 Osprey, 1 adult Bald Eagle, 1
Northern Harrier, 1 Coopers Hawk, 4 Red-shouldered Hawks, 1 first year
Broad-winged Hawk, 1 Yellow-billed Cuckoo, 4 Pileated Woodpeckers, 1 Acadian
Flycatcher, 8 American Robins, 12 Catbirds, 1 Yellow Warbler, 2 Pine
Warblers, 2 Palm Warblers, 1 Bay-breasted Warbler, 4 Yellowstarts, and
1Common Yellowthroat.
