SRIMATE RAMANUJAYA NAMAHA
Dear swamin,
Pancha samskarams are also called SAMAASHRAYANAM,which means effective refuge. We approach an acharya with a longing for knowing the path of liberation. The acharya does the pancha samskarams to the shishya as mentioned in tha prapatti shastras thereby a devotee is said to be taken refuge at the feet of lord. This deeksha is not a must for surrender to the lord. But ,because of this deeksha, the acharya takes the responsibility of convincing the lord to accept the surrender of the shishya which is the sole & most vital aspect of deeksha ceremony.
With our doshas ,it is most likely that our surrender may not be accepted as we may not fulfill all the requirements of sharanaagati. Here comes the role of acharya.Once lord has accepted the devotee due to pleading of the acharya, gradually doshas get eliminated & the devotee becomes purer & purer as a result of mercy of lord.
Hence deeksha is the surest way of attaining lord.
