Irene I don't know that they would be better food but they keep the
pile from going anaerobic and they keep it cooler too(prevent
hotspots). Last pile I used manure and didn't have to turn. This
pile isn't getting hot yet so I have more experimenting with green to
dry ratio. I'm planning to add fungi from the timber floor. Dennis
