I use this mulch only on pathways and wide bed borders. This mulch contain=
s some oil from the tree which ends up in the resulting compost in the bed =
if used on the bed. Some folks are sensitive to eucalpytus and fungus alle=
rgies can be a problem. It is too rough for mulch on the beds themselves =
besides the issue of the effects of the oils. It's appearance is not near =
as nice as redwood mulch IMO. It does not last as long either. Eucaplytus=
is not at all fire redardant because of the oil. The giant trees tend to =
ignite easily and explode in fires.

This is off topic but I know the experts reside on this group. A member o=
f my Hosta club is wanting to use eucalyptus mulch. It obviously is not nat=
ive to the Great Plains so we have no experience with it.
What are the pros and cons?
Please contact me off group as to not clog up the compost tea talk.
