C'Birders:
Of course the birders showed up early, and some got discouraged, but the
Persistent Gearharts, finally spotted him (her), about 9:15 today, sunday,
June 10. I went down on the dock after they left and the Purple Gallinule
scared me to death Kee-kee-kee-ing as it flew up from under the dock. So it
was about an hour later than yesterday AM, but it also was by the dock at
6:30 PM last night.
Suggested strategy: approach dock very slowly, because bird is often hidden
by the vegetation. It has never flown more than a couple to 3 yards however
when startled.
I will add that I went out in the boat and circled the lake yesterday
afternoon and NEVER saw it.
I think I have a really creative name for it: P.G. (Groan)
