This is the crux. Except for passing you shouldn't go faster than 20mph 
over the speed of the cars around you. If there's no cars on either side 
of the road, in front or in back of you, clear visibility and no property 
to damage, there's no reason why you shouldn't go as fast as you want. 
Just don't do it with a passenger who isn't willing to die.
