![]() Repairs the easy way
Let's start by pulling copies of Ashley's web page off of the server. For that we'll use a graphical FTP client. If you're on a MacIntosh, you'll use Fetch. Launch Fetch and click New Connection under the File menu. Follow the example below when you fill in the fields.
![]() Chances are you'll be logging into isis.unc.edu. Ashley's ex-boyfriend, Adam, had set her up with a very special and magical account on a server he administers at the MetaLab. Let's pray he didn't disable her account after they broke up!
![]() Whew! We got in! Man, Adam really was a nice guy! For those of you on PCs, you'll want to use WS_FTP as your FTP client. Here's what you'll see:

![]() Once you're logged into the server, copy the files locally onto your disk so you can edit them with your favorite html/text editor. We'll start working on her resume using Netscape Composer. Follow the link in case you forgot how to use Composer. For those of you working on a MacIntosh, you're in luck. You can use a high-quality text editor like BBEdit to make changes to your documents.
![]() After some diligent work, we redid her resume using a whole new template. We updated everything and even tossed that exceedingly sad picture. Her resume is ready for prime-time!! Now you're ready to move on to the next stage: working on the index. Let's fix that picture of Adam and Ashley first....
