The Ties That Bind is an exhibit spanning the history of Carolinas textile manufacturing from the first North Carolina textile mill to the present.

Offering photos, artifacts and video, the exhibit provides a glimpse into the mill community, the economy of mills and the technology of manufacturing -- including one of the first 1884 Edison Hydroelectric power plant donated by Pharr Yarns.
