High Seas to High Shoals 

This special, joint exhibition and series of events is being created by the Gaston County Museum and The Schiele. 

Featuring beautiful paintings, illustrations and some of the original artifacts that created the Smithsonian Institution, this exhibit highlights the life and exploits of Charles Wilkes -- America's first great explorer, Gaston/Lincoln County businessman and Civil War leader.
