Re: Birds and windows...



After experimenting with various remedies since moving into our house here
in Oriental, NC, in 1989, the best we have found is to attach thin, narrow
ribbon streamers on the outside of the windows.  They move in the breeze and
discourage the birds from flying into the windows.  I, too, have cried over
a Kentucky Warbler and even a Yellowbreasted Chat.

Currently, we are using green, approx. 1/4 in. wide attached by tape to the
top of the window and about 3/4 the length of the window.  It really doesn't
detract from the view and is a great conversation piece.   I have had no
casualties this year so far.
